Question About Heat

I have two new 24x24x12 plastic cages, which are going to be stacked. So the bottom cage will have its own UTH, but the UTH for the top cage will be on the bottom cage's ceiling. Will it get much hotter down there? Both UTHs will be on the same thermostat.

My racks have heat cable that runs through the floor of each shelf, essentially creating the same situation (one shelf's floor is another's ceiling). I don't think you have to worry. I'd place the probe in the bottom cage, and watch the temps in both cages. :)

Pssst, you have a snake escaping. :grin01:

I have a rack with cable, and it seems that since heat rises, the tubs on top are actually warmer than the bottom.

Thanks Dean! Also, thanks for reminding me I have to drill a hole for the thermostat. (I'd already planned for the thermometers)
