Snakes and more Snakes
So a college friend of mine, his mother breeds snakes. So she brought me two of her hatchlings last weekend. They are from a snow male and I cant figure out what she said the female was. She has a accent and I couldnt understand exactly what she said they were. Is there some kind of snake called a elsetta?? Or somethign similar to that. I know she said they are sometimes refered to as normal or classic corns?? And that it was brown and looks like a normal corn. But she said they were hybrid??? Either way the 2 hatchlings I got are awesome, very very red amels. One almost has a reverse okeete look to it. Anyone know what type of hyrbid this could be???
 
Maybe, but they look just like corn snakes. Red eyes and bright red orange and white. Hopefully she e-mails the pics of the parents and the name of the snake. Either way the snakes are great... both great eaters too!!
 
Yep Serp, and Grey Rats too. I bet they are obsoleta crosses. I've seen many 50/50 Corn/Obsoletta crosses and with many of them I can see how their offspring could look almost indistinguishable from pure corns if they were to be crossed back to a pure corn. Here is a hatching pic I found on Reptibid advertised as a Texas Rat X Corn, although right now it looks like a Hybrid, it's offspring may be a tough call if someone doesn't know what to look for.

Heck even some of these Hybrids with small amounts of Kingsnake Blood are hard to tell.

I know not everybody here is a fan of hybrids, but a few months ago when I was shopping around for a corn, I found some really wild looking milk x corn hybrids. I was looking for it today again but all I could find were pictures that might as well just have been tricolor milks. I'll keep an eye out though...they're much nicer looking than any of the corn x (other) rat hybrids or the Jungles I've seen.
