I was just wondering how big a 2 year old corn snake should be because mine is 2 years old and 5 ft long and i heard that the record for a corn snake is 6 foot
5 feet would be HUGE for a 2YO. Are you measuring the actual snake, or a shed skin? I ask because a shed is typically quite a bit longer than the snake. The old skin stretches by as much as 40% when it's being pulled off.
Are you sure it's a cornsnake...LOL only joking...... But are you sure it's 2 yrs old..... If the answer to the above two questions is yes....You could be on to a new record....
I'm not saying it is a hybrid, but it could be one reason to explain the huge size... A little rat snake blood somewhere far back might cause big size abnormal to corns. Just quessing.
My 2 years old female is approximately 120cm long (4 ft) and weighs a bit over 600 grams (1,4 lb) and at least here in Finland she's considered too big for her age. She doesn't look obese to me, but for what I know other peoples' corns of the same age weigh 400g - one third less! I've just got her so I haven't had her since she was a baby. The previous owner convinced me though that they haven't overfed her... The possibility of her being older than 2 has crossed my mind although I don't see a reason why the previous owner would've lied.
So if my female is a bit too big for her age, so is your corn.
Maybe we should mate them together and get a litter "CORNZILLAS" *LOL*
