I didn't find anything to answer my question when I searched so I will ask this in a new thread....
As it is, none of my snakes tanks have a UTH. I used to heat the room with a space heater until it broke. That was about a month ago. Obviously I plan on getting a new heater but in the meantime the temps have been in the mid 70s with the occasional low 80s. The temps NEVER go below 72F. I know they need warmer temps to properly digest but they have been digesting fine in these conditions.
My question is, will my snakes suffer any serious illness from being kept at these temps for extended periods? They all seem fine and normal (eating, active, shedding etc). I haven't noticed anything unusual but I am curious.
Like I said, it's been a month since my heater broke and I refuse to use UTHs because I had a bad experience with a few shorting on me and causing a fire. I prefer the space heater option anyway because it is far cheaper and only uses one outlet.
Thanks!
