Now, I forget where, but I have read that it is not good to use tap water or even some bottled water for corn snakes, as there are often chemicals in the water that can negatively affect the snakes. Can anyone tell me if this is a real concern? And if so, what can be done about it? We do not have any type of water purification system in our home, and I doubt that my parents would be willing to shell out some money to buy one for my snake, if they allow me to get one.
Also, one more thing, if anyone knows of other specific problems that I might need to know about before I get a snake, I would love to hear about it. I've read many of the old threads and posts on the forums, so I have gathered a good deal of information on how to deal with things like picky eaters, handling, and other such things related to their basic care.
