Quick Question

Well...my snake is orange and brown on the dorsal(top) side and white with black checks on the ventral(bottom) side, if that helps any. I think it is normal for them to have light colored bellies...
 
Yes there is a meaning, that lighter part is his/her "belly". You may have noticed another thing about his/her "belly", instead of little scales, the scales are long, going from one side to the other. Consider yourself lucky that Lennycorn actually bothered his ar*e so get all of those resources for you, don't make Lennycorn waste his time, and use the resources :)

I am definitely going to need more red wine this evening to keep from turning right into an old crank peering out of her pumpkin shell and muttering at the young whippersnappers. We once had a neighbor, a ninety year-old woman, who used to throw peanut shells out her from window if the kids drove their bikes too fast past her dining room window.

Why are you putting the paper in the tube? Just line the bottom of the viv with paper towel, put the tube in there so part is over the warm side part over the cool side on top of the paper. Water dish, that's it. Works fine.
