Quite the 'tude!

Hey all! I've been taking care of a friend of mine's hatchling for Christmas Break. She just shed today so I thought I'd snap a few photos and share them.

I was quite surprised to find out just how much of 'tude this little bugger can pack! Usually the snakes are much more resentful of being handled in shed, but I must've been struck at at least five times in the first five minutes of handling this little girl! (I think she's part anaconda...)

Anyways, I managed to get a few pics that weren't in strike pose... *totally* She is quite pretty, though! She's a Classic het for Hypo Pewter from Michelle (COTN), and she looks codom for all three traits. Enjoy!

Oh, I almost forgot the videos I took! Sorry about the quality, I'm not the best when it comes to recording videos... The first is of her attitude (so cute!) and the second of her feeding.

She's adorable! I thought my little bloodred was finally over biting when I got her to eat earlier this week while I was holding her. Then I carried her gently back to her viv in her feeding container, but jostled it just ever so slightly when I was trying to tip her out, and that set her off into a biting frenzy! Got me three times as I picked her out and set her in her viv. They are so cute at that stage. That's a beautiful girl you have there!

Thanks guys! I know what you mean, Nanci. I hardly provoked this girl (if you call approaching provoking), she's just such a little hateling! :p

Mine is so funny now- she lays out in plain sight and taunts me. Loves to lay on her fallen log, or right in front of the glass. She lets me pick her up, though.

Heheh, none of mine are really at that point yet, they're pretty much hidden for most of the time despite being in a less-active area now. Kel's a bit bolder nowadays, but still lazy. I think they take after me...

Very pretty, my corn snake (yearling) is also like that. He's just a pain in the butt at times, but he has calmed down since I got him and hopefully he'll get better with the whole handling thing.
When the snake is in it's strike position, try to touch the back of it's head and make it go down. I am not sure what it accomplishes but, for me, it makes them not as aggressive when you take them out...
Any way, good luck with the little one! He's really beautiful.

She is a really pretty snake! You are lucky to have friends around you that like snakes! I wish all the kids here weren't scared to death of them...

SnakesRule1234: I hadn't thought of that, so I'll be sure to try to put it to some use when she's not digesting. Thanks for the advice! ;)

Dave: Thank you! Yeah, it's deffinately helpful to have other herp-knowledgable people around to count on, I'm frankly very lucky to have them in such a small community. :)
