if you want to make it cheap and ugly, but functional, under $70 with the tubs and heat, i would use heat tape like you buy at www.bigappleherp.com

sorry i do not know the converstion, i just know American Dollars.:shrugs:

I have only built one, i paid about $20 for all the wood, and $72 for all the boxes, it hold 18 tubs....... my room is warm enough so no extra heat so far.

Mmmm how to provide UTH heating in the rack system I am planing on is my sticky point right now anyone able to advise me? I plan on converting a bookcase into three 36 inch vivs by adding sliding doors to the front going to groove the wood to allow the glass doors to be fitted in. However the bottom of the top viv will be the lid of the one below it etc so I am a little unsure how to provide the belly heat needed. I can use a normal heat mat and themostat for the bottom viv its the middle and top ones that I am not so sure about.

The 2 wooden racks in post number 20 cost about $250 to make with building supplies, tubs & heat. Each tub is heated with a 11x12 piece of Flexwatt (sorry, not from behind pictures it's too much trouble for me to move them out by myself).

Mmmm blckkat what exactly is flexwatt and would it be safe to have inside a viv as the whole of each bookcase shelf wouldbe turned into the viv. Jason thats probabally what I will end up doing I just need to work out how to insulate it so that it does not back heat the tanks below it to much maybe polystriane or lino or something?
