RED hypo

OK now that is RED RED RED! Completely STUNNING! I really hope things work out because I sure would love a hatchling like that.... or better yet TWO!!

"Actually, I think this color would be absolutely stunning combined to the bloodred pattern."

My first thought too! Everyone complains about how orange many bloods are these days. She would be a nice addition to a line of bloods that would hopefully stay very red.

Gorgeous snake!

Thanks for commenting,

Susan, in an ideal world, this trait (reduced orange or yellow in the background color) would be recessive, and the hypo will be the same as my other hypo motleys. But we'll see.

Apparently, the parents of this baby may have come from the same breeder as one of my hypo motley line. I got one het hypo male (also het amel and anery) from this breeder in late ‘90s (pic 1). Breeding him to a serpenco amelanistic motley female, yielded some nice hypos (pic 2). I guess I could breed this het male to the red hypo this year, at least, that’s one of the possibilities.

Kathy, if this color comes back, you can be sure it'll be going into a bloodred project (and Okeetee type).

That little hypo is SO cool. Pink and red with the orange only on the top middle stripe, which is a bit wavy. Just an awesome snake.

I agree, those babies always catch my attention to (and hope for red), specially with those ruby eyes. They lose the ruby eyes as they grow up, and they color up into an almost completely orange snake, it's too bad they don't stay red. I don't have a picture of the one on picture 2, but this is an identically colored clutch mate.

The second picture is that same hypo strain on a normal patterned yearling (het motley). I find them very nice, but the red hypo is the one that stops my heart.
