Refreezing

Came in today and my roommate had left a suitcase on top of our freezer, (the one I bought specifically to keep snake food in, as I'll be living w/ 3 guys in an apartment soon). The suitcase had knocked open the door and the freezer was partially open and my supply of mice (49 small pink, 50 large) was unthawwing, they were soft to the touch, but still cold. They were all wrapped in double ziplocks, except the 50 large pinks, which I never opened from original packing.

Can I salvage any of these? or is that ~50$ down the drain?

I think they'd be ok. What about the rest of the freezer- ice cream, ice cubes- what was the condition of other stuff?

Nothing else in the freezer, Right now I've only got 2 roommates, and one is getting ready to leave, so his food stock has been dwindling. I actually bought the freezer, ( a 1.3 cubic ft one) so that we could have a bit extra space in the fall when i move into an apartment w/ 3 other people and ~3 bums who will probably be in the place often enough to justify them keeping food there. I needed a place to keep mice where people couldn't bitch about it and we figured we'd need a 2nd freezer, so things worked out.

As far as freezer conditions, frost everywhere from the humidity getting in, have to clean that in a day or 2 once the pinks have refrozen, when I picked up the bag w/ lg fuzzies frost and water dripped off.

I bet they're fine, too....but! Scrape off that frost...believe it or not, it will keep your freezer from keeping things properly cold.
