Rep. Power and Reputaion Points?

Spitfire

Snakeless
What are these? By Rep. Points, I mean the little number by the green thing under your user name. Why and how does it go up or down? And the little scale at the bottom say something about reputation points when I click on it. Something about adding to someone's reputation. Can someone explan these to me. Are they new features because I didn't notice until I came back from vacation over the summer?

As far as I could see Cav, everyone's still confused!! Ah well, it's still fun giving points to people.

Does anyone think that perhaps the points have a little to do with number of posts? I remember I had one point after I had 50 posts, and as soon as I hit 100 I noticed I had another point. Of course, people could still add and take away, depending. What do y'all think?

Ah, no, I guess that theory may not work. I've noticed I've got over 150 posts now, and I don't think I've made anyone too mad around here :p 'Least, I hope not...

Sam, I believe that you get another point for every 100 posts. It looks like you just went over 400 posts, so that accounts for one point. You are also awarded points based upon length of membership. It looks like you just went over 9 months as a member. Perhaps that accounts for the other point ?.

FWIW, the Reputation points listed on your User CP screen are unrelated to the Rep Power number under the Avatars.

Oooh....So I've only been a member for a few months, plus I haven't quite got 200 posts yet. How does that work?

I must be blind cause I don't see any about reputation in my user cp. maybe it's just me?

Quigs

Quigs--If your's is set up the same way as mine, it'll be right under your newest subscribed threads. There'll be the user who posted it, maybe a comment, and what thread it was from.

I don't have any subscribed threads...lol Maybe that's the problem?!

All I see under the box for newly subscibed threads is the forum jump box.

Oh well,

Quigs

*Hmmm...* Perhaps your settings are a bit different. I wish I could figure out how to not subscribe to every thread I post on....one of my Hotmail accounts is completely full from notifications of people replying to each thread. Good thing I don't have anything important going to that inbox :p
