Ok I tried searching for it on where but no luck. Can someone tell me how do I get my rep power up. Is there a place to rate people like on fauna or something. PLEASE HELP!!!
 
You don't show rep power until you have 100 posts. The only way to get it is to receive reps from others for good posts. If you do have any points accumulated (you can check in your User CP), they will show once you've hit the 100 post mark.

You mean you've received rep 3 times? If that is the case (I suspect it is), then it depends on who the rep was from. The more rep a person has, the more 'points' you receive when you get rep from them (it is a certain percentage, I believe).

The green bars are pretty much useless now. Back in the day, rep power was limited to 100 (if you ever see a post by our admin, you'll notice that he has his rep locked at 100) and the bars indicated your level. Now, with rep being so much higher, you max out on green bars almost immediately. Did that make sense?
 
Rep points aren't that important any way. Not like trader ratings on Fauna. Over here, rep points are just compliments people give you for post you've made that they like or agree with. Personally, I wish we could give negative rep points too.
 
Well I think I will put it up in the thread to make this site better. I like the trader rating that fauna has. Should have it here to. I mean after all there the same site same owner and all.

Very true. And I've often thought that about negative rep...although I think all hell would break loose if we could. I could see it becoming pretty ugly around here if that were the case.

BTW, way off topic...Becky, that albino boa I got from you (through Matthew) is doing fabulous! Growing like a weed...I love him.

The trade rating on fauna doesnt seem out of control. Plus you can only rate there if you are a member which is a good thing to. I really like that tool on fauna it helps a lot to know who I am dealing with.
 
With Fauna though, it has always been a buy/sell/rate sellers/etc. forum. Here, we're mostly just a discussion forum/community here, so things tend to more casual and we aren't so much worried about the 'business rep' of the people we communicate with. When we want to know that info, we just jump over to Fauna! :)
 
Yeah thats true. But what about the people that are here and not on fauna. I already purchased from a few that are not on fauna.

Problem with that is, over here we are a bit more "laid back" than Fauna. Same owner to both sites yes, but things are just done different here.

They may be here and not on Fauna but..there is a link here that says "Check the BOI" and there is a link to Fauna they can use.
 
I haven't spent a lot of time on Fauna but my understanding is that the Trader points are related more to your skills as a business man. Here the points are related more to weather people agree with or appreciate what you have said.

Most of the arguments I have seen here have been about religion or politics or co-habitation. If you could give out negative points that is the criteria that would most likely be used.

Yes, I've received rep 3 times and they were all from people with lotsa rep. Not sure I get the green bars, but it's all good. Thanks!
 
I know things are different here. Just thought that with a trade rating like on fauna you have better idea if you are dealing with a scam artist. Especially in a trade. Which I also know is not done here as much as fauna. Trading that is! Just thought it would be a nice tool to have. I mean what could it really hurt if we had it. I dont see that many people on fauna leaving negative trade rating for stupid stuff not business related.
