Hey, I was wondering i f i could keep a corn snake in a 65 gallon reptarium? The only reason is that they are very inexpensive, and im not the richest kid on the block. And since they are agorophobic (spelling?) would a 38 gallon work better??

Thank you, this is my first post on the forum.

BTW, reptariums are mesh cages.

Doesn't 65 gallon seem like a bit much? Most people keep adult corns in 20 gallon long, or 30 gallon enclosures.

I agree with Terri on the humidity and...

Snakes have a tendency to rub their noses against the enclosure's walls. Unfortunately, wire mesh acts like a cheese grater and can cause severe infections or permanent damage to the nose and face. You might want to rethink a wire cage.

The size is no real problem unless it is less than 20 gall. You want to have swomething other than mesh because ya they could do damage with it.

have u ever seen a reptarium? It is not wire mesh, its more of a ... hmmmmm hard to explain... well the mesh isnt metal, and its rounded. but the humidity wouldnt be high enough, so it doesnt matter... (never knew they needed that much humidity, but o well)

The mesh is kind of like screen on a window. Not the old wire type...the type on new windows.

And yes, corns do need higher humidity than the screen cage can offer. They will have trouble shedding if the humidity is too low.

I think its pretty funny you think that Reptariums are inexpensive! I wish! They are very expensive! And although they arent wire, they are nylon, I can still see a snake rubbing itself raw on the mesh.
