Thank you for the URLs. I checked both out...MG is a LOT cheaper then where I went (Big Apple)...but neither site has instructions on how to do a bunch to a single cord...
 
I thought Clay had instructions for hooking them up serially...

I will contact Matt and have him check out this thread.
He will be able to help you.

I believe all you have to do is solder jumper wires from one piece of flexwatt to the next...making sure you have them attached so all the flexwatt is facing the same direction (arrows are pointing the same way)...but I have never done it...and would prefer someone with more experience confirm this.
 
Thank you so much for the help. I don't think that soldering is an option. I haven't a clue how to do it, and I'm not sure Gebhart has what he needs to do it. We'll find out I guess...
 
Soldering is SUPER easy...and fairly cheap to get the supplies...besides...you can ditch the "clippy thingys" and solder directly. Best way to go...and you'll actually save more money in the long run.

I sent Matt an email with a link to this thread...he is usually pretty quick at responding.
 
Hey guys, Wiring flexwatt is super simple one you do it one time. No way you need one cord for each section.. The clips are good if you have the crimping tool from the manufacture but they are alittle pricy in my opinoin. They are the only way I would crimp flexwatt as it is sort of "measured" as it will not allow you to release the crimp until you have crimped it to a certin degree. Soldering flexwatt is super cheap.

You can pick of a soldering iron for 10 bucks and solder for another 3-5... Big apple is out for the big gain not the customer!

These are a few examples of how you can wire them together(not an artist I know). If you need help with what you have just shoot me an email or give me a call and Ill help ya out.. Hope this helps,

You would do it like the second pic.. Just more of them. Cut however much wite you need for the next connection and wire it like you would the main one.. Then repeat that until you have the desired length/width you need...
 
In words it seems complicated(try writing it..lol) but if you did it once you would be amazed at the simplicity of it....
 
Just make sure that, when you are connecting them serially...they are all pointing in the same direction...meaning the wave lines...flexwatt IS directional.
 
Ok...So I gave Gebhart the directions for multi sections of Flexwatt being attached to the same cord...he says I "gave him an excuse" to buy a new tool. Um, ok. So, hopefully we're going to take a try at it this week. I'm going to be putting in an order with MG for some more Flexwatt. I need 6 more foot for belly heat in this rack, and then I'm ordering extra for some cages we're making to resell. I'll post everything when we've got it done. :crazy02:
 
LOL sounds like me, I love me some tools.. I have tools to fix tools and can build a cage for nothing....
