I went road cruising with my girlfriend, my daughter, anda friend's kid this weekend, and had a very productive weekend. The weather has been warm during the day, and quickly cooling in the evening over the last few weeks, and the time is perfect for finding neonates and hatchlings basking in the late evening sunlight on the roads.
These are two different Panmint Rattler neonates found on the same evening about 20 miles apart. Crotalus stephensi
Northern Desert Horned Lizard hatchling. P.p. platyrhinos.
Two firsts! My friend's son, Jason, and my own daughter, Zayne, both caught their first wild gophersnakes this weekend! P.c. deserticola
A couple different Panamint neonates found within a few hundred yards of each other.
And finally, a Sierra Garter neonate found early in the day this weekend. Thamnophis couchi. Obviously, this shot was taken while in captivity.
Thanks for Looking!!
