Rub size

I assume you mean tub size?

I move my bps up from 8qt to something around 12-16qt to something around 28-32 qt. When I get some females big enough, I'll probably get something bigger for them, but most people seem to think 32qt is the biggest a male ever needs. I've even seen some say 32qt is the biggest they use for any BPs, but I have wondered if they just don't have any really big females. I have one girl that is about 1800g, and I just can't imagine a snake twice that big in that size tub, especially not with a male in there too for breeding.

Great thanks a lot would you say 41qt is too big ?

I used 16 quart tubs for hatchling to yearling BP's but do have racks to house them from 6 to 65 qt's. depending on size not age.
As long as you have a nice tight hide for the Ball to feel secure and can keep the temps (and humidity) correct it should be fine. 41 qt. tub will house up to a small adult BP.

No, I wouldn't say 41qt is too big. As Daddio said, proper temps and humidity and proper sized hides are what are really important. If you think your snake is feeling insecure, just add some artificial foliage or something else to clutter up the enclosure, so the snake can feel halfway hidden even when not in a hide, and that usually fixes the problem.

Thank you wats the best way to get good humidity in a tub is I just to move the water bowl closer to the heat source ?

Sure, if that doesn't do it then mist when needed. Just watch out for mold developing.

So off topic, why do people in the UK call them rubs? What exactly is it short for, if anything?

Ok thanks a lot daddio207

Codymi It is short for REALLY USEFUL BOX !

Haw! I know nothing about pythons so I had no idea what a "rub" was, I thought maybe something to help with shedding! Most of the time you can figure out typos, this one got me!
