Hopefully that works...

So he's been rubbing his head on my hand. He shed exactly six days ago, and was fed later that day. His shed was complete from eye holes to the tip of the tail. I checked both the shed, and him for any bits, but couldn't find any.

I was handling him today when he started rubbing on my hand. He flattens his head onto my hand, and presses the top of his head and nose onto my fingers. I checked again very thoroughly for any sign of old skin, but there was none. He is active.

I have been away for the past 5 days. Is it possible that he went blue during this time and is in his clear phase so soon after his last shed???

I fed him, and he ate like a pig, so I'm leaving him for his couple days, but I'm just curious.

OMG that was such a fail! I was using that video to test if it would work, give me two seconds and I'll upload the real one.

Ya got me on this one, I haven't the slightest. As long as nothing is wrong it's super adorable!

By eye holes, you mean that the eye caps were ON the shed, right? Take a look at his nostrils. Maybe check very carefully under his chin and around his eyes for mites.

Yes the eye caps were on the shed, sorry for the mix up haha.
I've checked his head, but not his nostrils. Maybe there's a flake or so left in them. I did not see any mites.
If that is the case, hopefully he fixes it on his own :) I'll check him tomorrow night.

Thanks Nanci.

Only time I've seen similair behavior is after a feeding and my plasma female will rub her head against something to help realign her jaw after she's done eating. It doesn't happen all the time but sometimes she has trouble getting it to relocate without rubbing against something. Since you're handling him though I'm assuming it's been at least the two days after a feeding and by then he would of corrected that so I'm stumped.

Yeah, I fed him after my handling and I can't see why else he'd need to relocate his jaw other than feeding or biting (which he has not).

I'm just as stumped as you, yojoe. I keep records of feeding, weight, and sheds so I'm not mistaking his last shed or feeding time haha.

I'll just have to wait and see, Nanci may be right, there may be some shed left in a nostril.

actually it looks like he just wants a good body rub... my corn Slinky has learned to hook her head through my fingers and I do what would be best described as a 'taffy pull' firm but gentle hand grip over and over the middle third of her body... when I quit and put her back on the bed, she will immediately look for my hand, hook her head again and wait for the 'taffy pull' to start again. At first I thought she was going after my fingers even though she had been recently fed and now I am trained as a corn snake massuese, wonders never cease :)

If he recently had a drink he could be wiping his face, maybe a little excessively lol. I have seen plenty of mine do that after eating or drinking, they wipe their faces on the sides of their tubs or viv.

Taffy pull, that's adorable, some of mine wrap firmly around my fingers with their back half and pull themselves through with their front. I get what you are saying. I guess, when you're all spine lol a good stretch feels good, I imagine it's kind of natural for a semi arboreal snake like a young corn.

Fuzzy did a similar thing today, nuzzling between my finger and thumb.... I think she was attempting to see if she could burrow or find a hiding place.
