rufous beaked snake

If you've never heard of the snake, then you have no business running out and buying one, IMO. Also since they are technically a venomous species, I'm not sure that the guy can legally sell you one since you are a minor.

If you want another snake species, go with something non-venomous and that actually has care sheets available.

i was thinking about it... not just gonna run out right away and buy one i'd do research before i'd get it. and im only a minor for another couple months anyway

Rhamphiophis oxyrhynchus...

Similar in charactiserists to the north american bull snake. Ie as adults they are large/stocky and adore their food. They have been in the trade for years now, yet pop up seasonally and have done so for a very long time. They have not gained much popularity due to the lack of information on them and of course they are rear fanged. Their venom is very mild, however they should still be handed with care as they will not hesitate to bite, although if kept from a hatchling they can be calmed down.

Semi arboreal, they like it dry and hot (88/90). Be prepared for a BIG cage and a bit of a struggle to get a baby feeding readily on rodents. Find a supplier of live house geckos as a backup before purchasing one.

PS... I wouldn't even consider this species if you don't have a clue about them. They are not fun to keep unless you know what your doing.

Yup.

I kept one for a while, they have rapid mood swings. The one I had ate great on p/k mice, then stopped, then would only eat lizards.

I would NOT suggest this snake, especially if you have never heard of the species.
