Sad News, I got accepted into college

As for the biology dep't, it's a Christian college, and while it may not be a problem, some Christians have problems with snakes. i personally have no conviction about owning snakes but some people over-react a bit.lol.

I go to a Catholic school and I have already talked to my Bio teacher and most of the other science teachers about putting one of my baby snakes in their classrooms as a pet. The main reason on why they didn't like the idea was that "It would get out". I didn't want to argue with them because they are the people that I have to deal with until I graduate, so I dropped it. ;)

Now that my Bio teacher knows I have snakes she is always asking how they are and she wants me to bring one in when we go over reptiles. I think that most teachers are skeptical at first about snakes in the classroom..and I am sure it is just the same in public schools. Actually now that I have seen how 'mature' most kids are I would never let my school have a snake if I was not still a student there. The mature thing is a whole different story...

I'm sorry you can't get a snake yet, but congrats on getting in! A snake will be something cool to look forward to once you're done:)

I'm confused, our college you dont like, leave home.. you just visit it through the day

Actually, that's not quite true - students who live close enough can visit the college during the day, but many higher ed colleges also have on-campus dorms and so on. My brother when he was in art college lived on campus. ;)

I live on campus at my school. It's my first year... finals next week WOOO!
What I did was I didnt come up here with any of my snakes. I waited until I met my roommate and RA and made sure they were both cool. My roommate obviously knows about it, the RA, not so much, but he wouldn't mind if he knew. After about a month or so I brought one of mine up when I visited home. I'm thinking of bringing another that my dad is having problems with when I get back for spring semester. As long as you're discreet and wise on when yo keep the tank covered (assuming its in plain view) you'll be fine with one or two... don't go overboard and start a zoo though. I've never thought of my bio department as into animals much, but I'm curious and I think I'll contact them about it soon. I'm already a Bio major so it shouldnt be difficult.
