Sammy's on the lam!

Before leaving for work yesterday morning, I looked into Sammy's terrarium to check on him like I do every morning... and HE WAS GONE!! :sidestep: It seems that one of the corners of his terrarium cover didn't snap down all the way and the little bugger slithered his way out! I'm hoping and praying that he is still somewhere inside my condo and will turn up soon. I've read the "what to do if my snake escapes" thread and have tried a few of the tricks, but so far nothing. I'm so paranoid that he slipped out of the condo or down a drain or into the garbage disposal or I accidentally flushed him down the toilet! The only place I haven't checked is behind the stove and fridge which I can't do b/c they're too heavy for me to move. He just ate 5 days ago, so I don't think he'll be very hungry for a while. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that he shows up!

Good luck. That's why I like the sliding covers- I love that reassuring CLICK that lets you know it's closed, for sure. Only Choco has a home-made wooden cover that sets into the top of the viv- and I always have it weighted it down with two heavy bottles.

Well, just make sure any avenues of escape are closed off. I'd keep a really sharp eye out for him around dusk.

I've found my escapees within a couple of days so don't give up the search even if it takes a while. Look above the viv, in the curtain rods, inside things you already checked. Any small space. You'd be surprised at how little an area they can get into! When my adult went missing, I even missed him when I searched. When I went back to check again, there he was!

I've only had a couple of escapes with Lady G and every single time she made her way to the closet and was tucked in the tip of a shoe :) Just a suggestion.

check in some closets. they like dark warm areas when i lost mine she was in a snake lamp in the closet. good luck

I'm lucky b/c my apartment is so small (a studio) so at least I don't have a whole lot of rooms to look through. If only snakes would come when they're called :)
