They finally posted Selena's picture on the rescue center's (Pups 2 Luv) website.
And here she is on Petfinder
I took her for a walk and run the other day, she's doing great there. She still needs a real home, but I think it won't take long now that she is posted with pics.

Selena wins!!

Happy update!! Selena went to her permanent home today. She will be living with a couple that are retired, home all day. She has a nice big fenced-in yard and is already being a pampered pup. Selena was a bit shy when meeting men, even scared, but by the end of their first encounter she was licking the man's hand.
Suzy(from the shelter) said that Selena blossomed at her house and became a wonderful, playful, obedient girl. I knew that would happen.
Ahh, happy ending.

Well done Alan, you went to great lengths to make sure that beautiful girl got a good new home and all your efforts paid off, congrats!

That's wonderful news. I'm so glad you took the time and energy to find a place that would hold onto her till she found her "forever" home. Thanks to you she will live in a happy and loving home for the rest of her days!

Thanks all. I'll accept kudos for that. I really did it for the dog and that's the best part of the outcome, but it also made me feel good to get it done for her.
Selena was just fine last night, like she was living there all along. If they get pics they'll forward them to me.

An update on Selena because.....
She visited me at work today!!
Her owners are out of the country so she's staying at the shelter. Suzi (the shelter owner) called and asked if I'd like her to bring her to see me...yeah right, like I'm really saying no.
Selena is doing great, healthy, spoiled, goes running several times a week, loves her not so new now owners.
This is Suzi and Selena, with my friend Laura kneeling (Laura was going to keep Selena temporarily, didn't work out, Selena ate the fence)...

I think she remembered me, she kept pushing me with her nose and looking at my face....

Awww look at that look in her eyes when shes looking at you. She sure does remember you and it shows.. She is thankful for you :)
Thats great Alan :) And great you got to see her :)
I wish I could see the dog I saved from near death again :)

Thats so awesome you were able to visit with her again. I'm so glad she went to a good family, I'm just sorry she has to stay at the shelter while her family is out of town.
Thanks so much for the update!

Aww, looks like she's being well taken care of Alan and it definitely looks like she remembers you! That was a great thing you did last year and I'm sure she's happier because of it, well done again :)

Great work. Their is nothing more deserving than a dog in need. It's sad how many dog's are euthanized every year. I adopted a dog in August from a high-kill shelter in Arkansas last August, and in the few week span from pursuing to getting my dog, they had downsized their shelter from 170 dogs to about 115. That's almost 60 dogs euthanized in a 2 week period from just one shelter in America. They have something like a two week plan where if the dog can't find a home in two weeks they euthanize them. My dog is a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix and is the sweetest cutest dog's in the world, yet even he was close to being put down. It's devastating to me, and I think you did a great thing with Selena. Saving even one life is so un-believably important, and I'm sure Selena's new family are very grateful. Great job!.

Thanks again for your cheers. It was nice to see her. I had no reason to disbelieve what Suzi told me, but seeing how good she looked in person was much better!

I know! It would be nice to see it with something on its bones, poor pup.

Not to worry! Suzi's place has about an acre fenced in for the dogs. She has 9 plus the rescues/fosters, only big dogs. She says that Selena plays with all of the younger dogs part of the day, 6 of them running around like crazy dogs.

By Suzi's accounts she's a spoiled pup, and thank you again Sue.

I've never met them, never talked to them, but I'll bet you're right. Selena filled a spot in their lives, and she stays by her "mom's" side most of the day. I'm so glad it worked out.
