OK, I'm a Newbie, so if this is completely ridiculous please forgive me. We bought our wonderful Riley at Petco about a month ago and have been curious ever since as to whether it is a he or a she. While searching through other posts I found Kathy Love's videos on how to sex a snake. I have read that it is risky if you don't know what you are doing. Can anyone tell me what those risks are? Also, it mentions that "popping" should only be done on babies or small snakes, but what would be the limit? Our Riley is approx 28g and about 14 in. long. Is this too big? Again, I apologize for my lack of knowledge in this area and we are only wondering to satisfy curiosity. We would never even consider breeding him/her, we have no idea what the genetics are and frankly don't have that kind of time, money, or room. I am just at the point in my ownership that I want to know as much as I possibly can and this is my question at the moment. Thanks for all your help.
