Wow...your humidity probably isn't high enough then. I'm not sure what the average time is, but once she starts, Tootse typically takes less than 8 hours to shed.

I'm not sure of the exact amount of time it takes, as she typically does it at night when I'm sleeping. I normally check before I go to bed and it's normally there the next morning.

It certainly should be minutes/hours rather than days. Suggest you put a humid hide in with him, to help him along.

I've watched my snakes shed lots of times. From the moment that they start rubbing the head to start the shed, to the skin coming off can be as quick as a couple of minutes

I'd say it takes less than 30 minutes! Has he finished by now?? If not, you should probably help him get the rest off. You soak him in very shallow water for 20 minutes, then let him crawl through a wet towel. That should peel off what's left. Check his tail tip and eyes very carefully. Even a few remaining scales on the body can allow a bacterial growth to start underneath them.

Oh, and some of mine eat when they are blue, and some don't want to be bothered.

I'd like to see Tootse shed. Little stinker likes her privacy -- guess she feels naked or something.

Thanks for the clarification guys. I knew it wasn't supposed to be days long, just didn't know exact amount of time. :D

I've never seen one of mine do it. Sometimes the are so fast- I can put one in their feeding bin and by the time I recheck, they've shed! (And usually pooped and crawled through it...)

my little guy (kellog) sometimes eats during shedding but other times he is grumpy and refuses to take it. as for shedding kellog started off good as in his shed would come off in one but the last two times Ive had to soak him in luke warm water for 15 mins before it would all come off. I'm currently waiting on a shed help spray but ideally I'm after a moss hide or humid hide.
any ideas where i can get one any body? i live in UK

yeah but where do i get the moss stuff. i really don't fancy going out my garden and grabbing moss off the stones because we have a lot of cats in my area and they tend to spray on anything they can see. and i don't know how to make moss?

I just buy it at a pet store that has reptile stuff. You know, where you'd buy any kind of substrate. If you can't find the moss, then I guess you could use paper towels. Just because I don't like them as well as moss doesn't mean you can't use them- plenty of people prefer them.
