shedding time?

For a while now my snake has been hiding under his reptile bark and he doesn't seem to come out. is this a "symptom" of shedding? one other thing, his eyes aren't blue yet.

Corn snakes are shy by nature and will most likely spend most of their time in a hide where they feel most secure. It's perfectly naturally so I wouldn't worry about it. It most likely does not have anything to do with shedding yet...

Also regarding shedding, if your snake has red eyes, they won't turn blue during shedding. They just get a bit more dull looking, then they clear up, and then a few days later they shed. My snakes are always in their hides during the day and are more active at night, but when they are about to shed, I don't see them at all for 3-4 days.

My hypo snow is about to shed I think. She refuesd her meal on Thursday (I reheated it twice and then eventually left her and it in the tub, put the tub inside her tank for added security and left them there all night), but when I took her out her eyes were very dull. I've been keeping a close eye on her.

Curiously, should I feed her as soon as she sheds or would it be okay for her to wait until Thursday?

Sorry if I'm highjacking a thread. :(

when mine went under the bowl it was because he regurged... if they dont feel safe and u dont provide any hides for it itll go under the bowl

I don't know about others here, but when MY snakes shed, they are suddenly very active and obviously hungry. They'll eat in shed as well though, so it's not such an issue for me. Some snakes don't eat in shed, others do, others can be hit or miss...you just need to figure out what yours prefers. I feed mine at their scheduled times since the shedding process doesn't seem to bother them. If they refuse, I typically just try them again at the next feeding time. I have a very small collection, though.

I actually treat mine very similar to Lori. None of my corns have refused to eat when in shed although Melman takes a little bit longer to approach the fuzzy when he's blue.
