She's a snake, not a worm

So, around my house, me and my husband refer to my snake as worm or wormling because she's still pretty small, doesn't strike at her food, doesn't constrict her food, and is overall... worm-like? haha I don't know what it was about her f/t fuzzy today, but she finally realized that she's a snake and that she should "kill" the f/t fuzzy! Today was the first time she's ever struck at anything! She struck at its head, and rattled her tail! This was the first time I've seen either of those two things! Now if she ever tries to constrict her food, then she'll be a real snake hahaha

Firefly did a tail rattle the other night for the very first time with me. I've had her since November. It was a hoot. Mango goes bonkers every time I feed him. He attacks the mouse and gives it the full constrictor treatment. Sometimes I can't see his head for all the coils around him. It's funny.

Sometimes, I like to refer to my snakies as "ropes with teeth".
Hey, they're better than those "rocks with legs" people call turtles. :grin01:

My little hatchling is the same way, won't strike, won't constrict, just sort of lazily noms her food. My yearling is much more aggressive, like Karoni's, constricts for a long time before being convinced that her f/t mouse is actually dead.

I have an amel that is the laziest snake ever. He will not strike at any food, simply licks it a time or two, starts swallowing it and when it's about 3/4 or the way down, he will lift his head up and try to allow GRAVITY to do the work!!! I don't think he has realized he is going to have to actually use some energy. But I do love him!!

Hahaha glad I'm not the only one with the lazy snake! She's gone back to her lazy eating habits again lol Though, she's kept up the tail rattling with every meal now :)

Now, THAT made me laugh :roflmao:

Blaze will attack his food, I thought the other day he was going to pop a blood vessel in his head he was squeezing down so hard...wonder if he knows its already dead lol. He likes to coil around his food and you can see his tail rattle its so funny.

My snow Piglet, is about 6 to 7 months old. His last feeding he did a full coil and constrict all the while looking at me like "Ha, look what I can do".

my 3 yr old won't eat with us around at all, so I have no idea what he does, my 2 yr old jumps, strikes and constricts for all she's worth!! My hatchling just noms his down in a very relaxed manner!! They are all totally different!!

another way to eat

That's so funny! My snake does just the opposite. She grabs the pinky in the middle, takes her time deciding which end to start with and once it's a little bit in her mouth, she rears up and lets it hang down while she gathers it in, defying gravity. Maybe it's time for a bigger meal(g).
