I think my snake is sick...let me give you some background

I have had my corn since june of 2004. I have never before had a problem with refusing food or any regurge whatsoever. He has just hit the 48 inch mark and currently eats 2 frozen/thawed adult mice every 11 days. Two feedings ago he ate only 1 of the 2, which was wierd because he has never declined anything. Then last feeding he refused both mice even though I figured he would be pretty hungry at this point. that was about a week ago, but ever since about a week and a half ago he has had diarreah (sp?) every other day. Only liquid, no solids to excrete becasue there is nothing in his stomach. I am really worried at this point that there is something really wrong with him. He seems to not be drinking much and he has been overly active for the past couple weeks. He may be dehydrated becasue i think his skin seems a touch loose. This is very strange behavior and I dont know what to do. Has anyone heard of this before or have any suggestions???

btw I have been reading on this board since i began my interest in snakes two years ago, and I have kept very good care of my little guy. Never had any health problems, and I keep his viv spotless at all times, fresh water at least every other day, heating has always been perfect.

He might be going off food because he maturing and wants to breed. Try doing a search on that. Sorry can help more.

Good Luck

If it were just food refusal I'd say don't worry. This happens periodically for no reason even with the best feeders.

However the other symptoms are worrying and I'd take him to a vet or experienced person ASAP before it gets worse. I'm sure it's nothing you have done which has made him ill. Just do your best to make sure he gets better :)

The extra activity and refusal to feed is classic male going off food, however as Tracy said, the other symptoms are not normal. Even after my amel refused food for 3 months he still has normal poops even as long as 3-4 weeks later. He also looked normal in every way except for being out in his viv 24/7 and not eating.
