• Hello!

Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.

Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....

Please be certain that the location field is correctly filled out when you register. All registrations that appear to be bogus will be rejected. Which means that if your location field does NOT match the actual location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected.

Sorry about the strictness of this requirement, but it is necessary to block spammers and scammers at the door as much as possible.

SIGNATURE AREAS (For the 114th Time)

I don't think people read! Sitting here going through thread, because I ffel lazy today and can't tell you how many non-members have more then four lines. Since I'm on troll baiting and got caught trying to point four line rule out, help.

Well Dean, without over stepping our bounds would it be helpful to you if when ever we saw people posting like that if we polietly sent an IM with the rule link? Not playing police on everyone, but if each member helped one rule breaker I think it would make a difference...

Jenn,

Rich Z. has made his opinion on this kind of thing clear in another thread. So I DO NOT recommend that members contact other members about rules infractions. Instead, use the report function, and the mods will take care of it.

Just for the record, it is NOT appropriate for members to badger another about an infraction of the rules here. The goal for having rules is to try to make this site work for as many people as possible, NOT to cause someone a lot of grief and perhaps frustrate them out of the picture.

If you see something that you feel is an infraction of the rules, please use the Report A Post function that is available in every post made here to alert the mods about the problem. That is what they are here for.

Thanks.

Rich Z.

Dean,
Is 4 lines and a banner allowed? Or does the banner count as a certain # of 'lines'. Just trying to make sure when I redo my sig area I stay within the guidelines. Thanks, Lindsay :)

Signature areas must not exceed four lines, and blank lines count. As far as I know, the sig area banners do not fall under this rule.
Four lines PLUS a banner is OK (as far as I know). :)

And what about signatures with at least one line in a larger than normal font size? Should the larger size of one line equal two of the normal font as it takes up the same amount of "space"? The whole idea behind the line limit is to keep the size of the signatures from "dominating" the post.

Good question. It would be nice if people could just use courtesy and common sense. When I decided to use a sig banner, I switched my sig text to the smallest size and limited it to two lines (I think it's one line at the moment).
