Siren: 08 Sorong chondro progression!

Tula_Montage

It's Jager time!
This is my first Green Tree Python. I am so excited to finally have my dream snake, after waiting two years to get one.

She was bred by Steve Fuller of Green Tree Pythons UK.

This is her mum

And this is her dad

She hatched on the 30th of March 2008, weighing 13 grams.

5 months later, this well established wee banana snake arrives on Tuesday the 26th August. She is practically perfect in every way (at least to me).

She is beautiful!! Her eyes are absolutly intoxicating. I can't get enough fo her. Can't wait to see more of her.

She looks great Elle!! I'm so glad you got a good one for your first. Can't go wrong with an established baby from a good breeder. Looking forward to seeing the changes pictures! I'm assuming you're calling her a "she" out of desire?

Thanks Meg. I waited ages to find the perfect first chondro, and the only two big reputable UK breeders are Steve Fuller and Garry Groom. Steve only had babies available this year.

I call her she out of habit, and because I don't want to call "her" it LOL. Plus the guy that dropped her off at my house was calling her a she aswell. And Siren is more girley so yes, she out of desire. But I won't know for a while yet.

I wonder who I can get to probe a chondro? I'm good with the probes, but I would simply die if I broke a chondro trying to probe it. I shall be looking out for sperm plus so I perhaps won't need to probe.

The males definitely shed sperm plugs if you want to wait that long. How about the breeder later? Are they close enough?

Wonderful pictures, Siren is stunning. Can't wait to see her grow and watch her colours change. Keep the pictures coming.

Any breeder should be able to probe. They aren't any different from any other snake. Just wait until it's at least 100 grams or more and over a year old. It will be fine.

I really like your new snake..... the little mark over her eye that lines up with the top of the pupil is really cool. Beautiful colors and markings, should be an interesting progression :D

Siren pooped! WHoooot! Thats a relief. Shes roaming around her box at the moment, I'll go clean poop in a wee while and try to get some pictures.

I haven't handled her per say, but she did crawl into my hand the day I got her. So yes I have held her but not handled her. You shouldn't handle young chondros unless you have to as they have such delicate spines.

It is a little strange how obsessed we get with chondros pooping. Babies in general poop once a week or more. Wait until they start going every month...or two...or so...

LOL theres something hilarious about her poo... should I take a picture, because it's shaped like a penis. Two wee balls of urates and a big long poo in the middle LMAO!!
