Skin peeling off

Why is my corn snake's skin peeling off its not about to shed. Her skin is peeling on her belly just little pieces. Should i worry or not??

When did she last shed? Did it all come off as a complete piece or was it in bits? I'm thinking it could be retained skin from the last shed.... If it is, you should get a damp towel and get her to slither though it a few times until it comes off.

Yea when it shed it was all of it. Maybe its just me maybe my hands are dry or something.

In that case i have no idea..... hopefully someone more experienced will chime in, but if the skin on the belly is actually peeling and coming off, i'd get your snake to the vet.

Some major details about your viv set-yp, etc would greatly help. The first things that come to mind that may cause peeling skin on the belly that isn't due to shedding are either a burn (PLEASE tell me you don't have a hot rock in your snake's viv) or an infection perhaps caused by too moist substrate. A burn doesn't have to be deep, just the equivalent of a sunburn to cause peeling, and if your snake spilled it's water and you just haven't noticed it for couple of days (I have two males that routinely create a swamp in their vivs when I'm not looking), that could also cause a problem. In either case, a trip to the vet is probably in order.

Is your undertank heater controlled by a thermostat?

What temperature is the floor the CLOSEST the snake can get to that UTH?
