Slow starters.........

nice looking eggs :)
Thanks! What an incredible breeding season for me this year so far. No slugs, no eggs retained. I strongly suspect Dixie the stripe is a missexed male, and Silk didn't mate successfully but all my gravid girls did me proud. The new heatcable/thermostat in the incubator has managed a mini heatwave of abnormally high temperatures for a week without issues. (I had obsessional checkitis with the infrared themometer getting more use than it usually does all year!).
There's a bit of a spread in the laying dates that should mean time between hatches rather than all hatching in the same week so that will spread the workload nicely.

Now I'm starting to get excited.........Kate's clutch is at 7 weeks. Out of all the eggs this year, only one (in Annie's clutch) has gone bad. I couldn't resist candling today and enjoyed seeing squirmy baby snakes moving around in the eggs.

Day 73 for Kate's clutch, and here's my first 2013 pippy!

And he's out! 6g of loveliness. 5 bubble blowers hiding in their slashed-up eggs. The colour is off because I didn't use the flash.

So then a check of the other tubs................and now I'm in for my most eagerly anticipated pipping ever. 7 years in the making, my Christmas blood project could finally (please Murphy stay away) be coming to fruition. Faith and billy's babies are making their debut.

If I get one, as far as I know it'll be a first. 5 hatchlings out this morning, and more pippies blowing bubbles. The torture for me continues, but I've got a Christmas ghost!

Thanks! I could do without the complication of the anery gene in this clutch, but the little ghost is pretty!

SO Kate's clutch are all hatched and set up, a nice bunch of okeetee x christmas babies. They colour up really nicely with thick borders so I'm happy. Still waiting on 6 eggs from Faith's clutch, and the odds for the hets lining up don't look good from the noses poking out.
No action from any of the other clutches, Annie's should be next

Close, but no bananas! Diffused, Christmas hypos, aneries. A Christmas ghost. The last little pip looks like another ghost. All beautiful healthy hatchlings.
