I lost my first, 2years ago and unlike all the success stories, I never found him again. Does anybody think, that after 2 years, a snake could still be alive in the house?

I lost a hatchling once and she was gone for almost three months...Thing is when I found her she had actually grown a bit...

I think that any snake that is lost will eventually find a new food source if their is one available...I see you live in Africa...I don't know about rodent populations there but I am sure there are plenty of lizards for your snake to feed on...

Keep looking and you may be surprised....

hey there.

Well i got a corn hatchling, and it got out somehow well then we found a new house and we had to move and i thought we would never find him after bout 4 months when we were in our new house i found him,and he also grew abit.

Re:

I never give up hope, then again I think it's my nature never to.

I lost an adult female corn last July, and she was missing for 8 months until I found her outside this March sunning herself in my flower bed.

Somehow a bright orange and red snake kind of stands out in a flowerbed. ;)

She was skinnier than when I saw her last, but alive none the less. She must have survived on rodents within the house and then hibernated somewhere over the bad winter we had.

But she's back home, well fed, and a mother of 13. =D

Sometimes when you least expect it, they'll turn up.

My record is two years

It was a california kingsnake which I found in my backyard two summers after his dissapearance as a yearling. He was living in the great outdoors and had grown considerably, but had scars and was very aggressive when I reacquired him. I've lost a few over the years, most hatchlings never do turn up, but once in a while even a blind pig will find an acorn!

Thank you everyone for your words of hope and encouragement, it will be the coolest thing ever to find my boy alive after two years. But the chances does get dimmer with time, I understand. I'll make use of the finding tips I've read of elsewhere in the forum. And maybe we'll all get a surprise!
