Last night was feeding night at the Lass's place and everything went smoothly until I got to Daire. He was in his favorite log and he wasn't coming out... nope, no way, no how....

I poked and poked and poked and he wasn't coming out... nope, no way, no how.... Well, being the brilliant Lass that I am, I decided to lure him out with a mouse.... he snatched that thing and dragged it back in the log before I could even blink!!

Well, it was a little more crowded in there than expected and he fell out the back.....

At least it allowed me to carefully drag him out and the second one he had to eat in a civilized manner :)

That's funny. Inez has a hide that is _so_ hard to get her out of, plus she packs it full of aspen so it makes a huge mess if I try. Now I just take the whole thing out in the yard and when she tries to make a run for it- got her!!

LOL Nanci, that's why it's on the couch... I thought he would too... nope, smart boy knew he was safer in that log! I've tried to take it away from him several times but some how it keeps ending back up in the cage. I tried to saw the one end off, but I don't have anything sharp enough to do it :)

Cool pics and progression feeding shots!

I have a cork bark tube in my Ruby's vivs, that she just loves. She also went through a phase of not wanting to come out even for feeding. I caught her out of it one day and took a hack saw to it length ways, then used plastic coated garden wire to hold it back together (making sure there are no sharp ends that she can scrape herself on). She still uses it a lot, and if she doesn't come out for feeding, I can unwrap the wire and get her out. Although now when she gets a whiff of mouse, she is more than willing to come out :)

:)GREAT PICS!!! i love the first one, your snake looks so cozy in there. lol:)

Thanks Brett :) He gets very cozy in there... I've removed snakes from the bottom of plastic trees easier than trying to get him out of there. He's too big for it, but if I give it to little Gunn, I can't reach him in there :)

Awwww I've moved the whole log into the feeding tank before and put the mouse off to the side. He came out soon after.

Hmmmmm, a good idea, but I'll need a bigger feeding tank... don't think that log will fit lengthwise into my current one :)
