its a male reverse okeetee i don't know its size but its between
5-7 weeks old.
i have a 29 gallon (30"L 12"W 18"H) glass aquarium with a screen mesh locking lid (its smooth to the touch), A 14 watt cobra heat mat running through a reptistat 500R to run around 85F on the hot side and the temp on the cold side is round 75F, I also have a 150 watt lamp and another reptistat that i bought incase the heat mat wasnt hot enough co's my rooms usally cold but i dont think i'll neeed the lamp for that , so now i'am considering running the heat mat at 70F constantly and using the heat lamp on a timer to rasie it 15 degrees during the day. which brings up a question is the night time lower temps mandatory?
I'm using paper towels as substarte
two hides one on the cold and the other on the hot side along with a heavy water dish , and a tree branch made for reptiles (i beleave its actually a type of rubber) and a 15 watt light above the tank for light on a 10 on 14 off hour scheduale. two thermoniters one on each side and a humidity gauge.
i do have the snake manual in front of me half way through it will be finished b4 Sir Slithers arrives.
i'm going to feed frozen mice , i got six (pinkies) from the petco (but for some reson i'm wary of buying em there although they look fine atleast to my newbie eyes) but i've seen lots of websites that sell em.
now the part i havent yet decided is how to feed .
i have a 10 gallon tank that i intend to use when cleaning and don't wanna feed him in it cos i dont want him thinking that evrytime i clean him he's gettin fed. i had a idea of using a red lid (like from a coffee can ) to feed on hoping it would associate the red lid with feeding. but like i said i'm not sure.
