Snakes EVERYWHERE!

I live in Kansas City, Missouri...the other day I was at my grandma's house, which is on a golfcourse, just walking around by the swampy pond area. There were snakes all over the place, it was soo cool! I even caught my first wild snake, lol....anyways, I'm pretty sure they were Ribbon Snakes. (They were black and yellow, and really good at swimming) They weren't even very big snakes at all, so thats why I think so...anyways, I'm pretty sure it's breeding season for them, because they were following eachother around, and my friends even found them all on top of eachother...I'm guessing thats a bunch of males going to one female. It was really neat. They are so pretty. =D

Fantastic!

Yes, sounds like a Ribbon Snake. Long, slender, brown with yellow stripes running the length of its body? It's mating season for them over much of their range. They tend to go at it a little earlier than other snakes. And they have little orgies.

Try and get some pictures!
