I finally weighed Jake and Electra as I wanted to check what weight she was (hoping to breed them) So shes easily big enough... but Jake... well the fatty is 819g!! Is this heavy for an adult male? I thought so, but his muscle tone looks great and he has no fatty deposits (hes also pretty long) however I will keep exercising them and giving him big mice instead of weaner rats.

That's huge! Are you sure Jake is a male? I wonder if snakes can say "Well, you know muscle weighs more than fat..."

Yes I'm sure, I wouldn't be trying to breed 2 females lol! I've had him probed and the guy really seemed to know what he was doing, I watched. My girl is 492g, a good weight for breeding :)

The guy I bought him off didn't really know what he was talking about I don't think... but he did mention the guy HE got him off in the pet shop thought he might have been a hybrid?? However I was sure he was a normal... but hes sooo orange for a normal I'd almost call him okeetee.

Heres a pic of 'fatty'

Hey beanie, this may sound stupid but did you remember to subtract the weight of the container you weighed him in?
I got a shock when I first weighed mine with a proper scale, the first weighed over 1,000 grams but then I remembered to subtract the container weight and got a more respectable 438grams. The feeding crate I use to weigh them in is over 600 grams. So I know how easy it is to forget.

If you did remember then you've got a stonker of a boy there!

Best wishes,

I bet lots of people do that! But yes I did zero the scales first. I weighed him in a metal container which would have probably made him about 2kg if I hadm't zeroed it!!
