This wasn't a very nice reply to someone who is only concerned for the welfare of your snake. I agree with Whippet. Not to dump any more rain on your parade, but most people who take their snakes out in public places are just immature exhibitionists...
 I take mine out to play as well. (well Sid usually). I have to use a sports bag though, as he won't fit in my purse.
We go to the park, find a nice quiet corner, and he goes cruising. He has been seen by nosey people, wondering what I'm doing meandering around looking at the floor...LOL.
And I've had mixed reactions, nothing extreme though.
I think it all comes down to where you take them.
To the cinema to watch 'Snakes on a Plane'.......Immature...
To the park for a short holiday......Considerate owner enriching his snakes life...

Oh watch that flame thingy, you could burst my super protective bubble... I wouldn't want to go outside now would I because comparing ME to your snake is exactly the same thing ;)

Well good to hear I am not the only one who doesn't keep my snake cooped up all the time. I always considered it enriching his life as well. I don't take him to the mall (although I did once see someone who did, and he was riding his skateboard with the snake around his neck- now THATS what I would call an immature exhibitionist). I take him to the beach, the park, occasionally petco so he can pick his dinner! He doesn't really pick it, I do, but its just for fun. I'm sure there is a possibility he could get sick, I'm not saying the people jumping on me about this are liars, so much as you are overexaggerating anal forum freaks!

So does anyone else ever take their snakes out?
And don't lie....I just been looking at your pics....LOL

Making a point to conceal a snake outdoors (ie taking it to a nice quiet spot in the park for a roam/photoshoot) is entirley different to taking a snake to the mall/cinema/roller disco etc... It's an obvious shout for attention with the snakes best interests not taken into consideration.

Uhhh who said anything about actually taking their snake those places???

Oh stop playing dumb, or did you actually miss the point completely? It's ok to stand back, take a deep breath, evauluate your immature and eratic behaviour and come back to this thread later. I won't fall off the face of the earth if you really do feel the need to address every single point I make however I will not be replying to anymore of your smart arsed comments ;)

All right, all right. Enough. Let's keep it civil. Failure to heed this warning will result in 3-day suspensions...

LOL does anyone else see the irony??? Who said anything about taking their snake to the mall/cinema/roller disco???? You seem to be a little confused

She said she took the snake to Target and a prissy lady freaked out. Now Target isn't a mall; it's a huge department store. It's certainly not a place to be taking a snake, or any other animal. I wish people wouldn't bring their kids in there. ;) I don't see how the lady was "prissy". You shouldn't have to face fearsome animals in a department store just because some exhibitionist is looking for attention...

And for the record, if you publicize something in an open discussion forum, and it gets discussed, deal with it-- even if you don't like the opinions that differ from yours.

Oh come on guys, I was oh so obviously (or perhaps not) over exaggerating. Nevermind, you completely missed the point. le sigh...

You call this a discussion? I call it an attack.
It was nextdoor to the goddamned petstore. I had to get some makeup. It was once, he was out of my purse for 2 friggin seconds. I know you have a different opinion but you're still arguing with me. How am I not "dealing" with it? I am dealing with it, by telling you you're anal and overexaggerating the situation, you posted your opinion publicly and thats my opinion, so deal with it.
