There must have been a snapping turtle nest near my front yard somewhere. I found five of these little guys in my yard - one going into my garage. Two more had already been killed on the road in front of my house. I gathered them up in a bucket and walked them down to the creek where they were heading:

And I was planning on fishing today, but my motor crapped out on me yesterday and I'll be without it for 2 weeks. So I decided to go out looking for snakes, something I hadn't done all summer. Found a couple, and some other stuff:

Great pictures skychimp! I especially love the ones of the baby snapper. Cute little guys! I haven't seen those since I left Jersey back in the 90s. We went out the other day and found 8 three-toed boxes, but i'd trade all of them to see one of those little diamonds. Congrats on the finds!!

I don't know what it is, but there is something so cute about the plastron of a baby snapping turtle that is just so cute I can barely take it! Great trip!

They are both Northern Water Snakes. The one on the log was about 5 feet long.

I ws hoping to see a cottonmouth or two, but no luck.

Amazing pictures there, what zoom does your camera have? Wish there was a few more interesting species in England to look for!!

Those pics are awesome! That little fawn is adorable, and so are the baby snappers. That foot in the empty shell is uhh..interesting. :eek1:

I have yet to see a baby deer this season! then again I need to probally get out there and start looking lol. That turtle in the first picture of your second post was HUGE!

WOW! Where do YOU live!!?? My backyard doesnt look like that! You are very lucky!
