Some problems...

Time to update :p
Just before we left for vacation, Aris took a small pink, no problem. Digested okay, pooped okay too. Supposedly did well for the vacation, but a recent problem makes me doubt he received the care I asked my stepdad to give... He's now deep in shed, very cloudy (except his eyes...?). His neck is very obviously scabbed over and looks pretty painful, but I can't do anything for that now. So, it looks like he's going to pull through, and recover to 100, or maybe 99%. :) A few scars, but he'll live.
And yes, I'm very glad you learned from the mistake! I DEFINITELY do not want anyone to go through the drama I went through :)

I, uh, just looked in and he's in the process of shedding :3 It's really, really cool. Head has come off, can't see anything else yet.

Glad to hear he's doing so much better! If he has trouble shedding- if it doesn't all come off- there's a sticky at the top of the Health section that shows you how to fix it.

And now, the results of the shed:

Excellent! First piece got somewhat stuck around his neck, but a little bit of effort and he got past the problem area :) A bit of the tail got stuck on him, but a bath cleared that up, too. He's now back in his home, chilling. His neck looks great, completely sealed up. He's missing some color, but there's no open wounds anywhere. I think we can safely say he's out of trouble. I'm keeping him on paper towels until his next shed, just in case, but he's back in his bigger home. He's been in a 5.5 gallon for far, far too long. The 29 gallon is his home, now.
I'm so happy. He'll be fed on Tuesday, back to his regular schedule.

Fantastic!! Sounds like you've done a great job with him! I'm so glad the worst is past!
