I saw this article in the Offbeat section of ccn.com:
Something worse than snake bite
Short article, but I wonder how many of you with multiple snakes would agree with this...
There was another article that I saw in last week's People magazine about the movie Snakes on a Plane; the trainer who supplied the snakes mentioned several myths regarding snakes: they don't hiss with their mouth open, they'd rather not attack but instead hide, they don't fly...I think that these were the myths he mentioned. Any other myths to dispel?
I guess my choice would be that snakes are not evil incarnate. My Oma is a Jehovah's witness & while I haven't told her that I have 2 snakes, I know that she's pish-posh the idea of it because haven't I read this latest tract...? Don't get me wrong, I love her dearly, but someone trying to tell me that an animal caused the downfall of man is ridiculous. Wasn't Adam just as much to blame for agreeing to that apple as Eve? Sounds like a good case of human error to me.
