I now officially have the most flimsy excuse for justifying a new snake. Here was my line of reasoning.

Must get spray-mister for my school's new iguana - oooh, spray misters are cheap, I'll get two - what can I use the spare one for? - hmmm, I wonder what snake requires high humidity - Rainbow boas eh? Well I'm not too sure - (after seeing one) *dribbles* YOU ARE COMING HOME WITH ME!

So this is Spyre the Brazillian Rainbow Boa who has the biggest viv of all my snakes all to himself and so far is a very laid back iridescent beauty :) One of the pics is very blurry but it was hard to get a shot of all the colours, will try again once he's settled in.

I absolutely adore rainbow boas. They're one of my very favourite snakes. I held a guyana rainbow boa a few times, she was a real beauty. I would LOVE to own a rainbow boa, one day, eh? ;)

Congrats on your new purchase!

That is one fabulous looking Rainbow Boa!!!! :) I don't know if I could ever keep a boa, though...they're very neat to look at and hold. How big can this one get? and what size tank will you be using for Spyre?

Well there's some confusion over whether this guy is Brazillian or Peruvian which can mean half a metre to a metre difference in adult length. I'm going to go with 4 metres. He's in a 40g tank but is spending most of his time coiled up in the branches, keeping an eye out for anything edible :) It'll take him a few years to grow into the tank, only 6 months old now. Seems to love the occaisonal water sprayage, sits and drinks water off himself. Now the plan is to get him onto f/t, will keep updating as to how that goes.

right moosey your for it :twoguns: :twoguns:

your just naughty! lol

well i suppose i cant talk, i ordered a ball python when going to get a mister and aspen!! ahhhh, your having a bad influence on me!!!
