Nice! I grew up in a bass fishing family- lakes, though. My favorite part was cleaning them- I'd get to cut the stomach open and see what they'd eaten. Once I found a tiny turtle.

Do they have a bass season there? The bass opener was like a national holiday for my family- end of May. Before then there would be signs posted all over near the spawning areas that you couldn't fish for anything there.

Hey! Where'd you catch that at?! We go up to Codorus but never get anything (unless you count the fish sticks I get with my ladybug jig in the shallows :D ). We always end up going to a place called Ortana (sp?) which is a ways away. Then we catch lots of fish. :)

Nanci: It's catch and release only this time of year, which works for me; I haven't kept a largemouth bass since I was 12. Carolina rigged 5" pumpkinseed/green flake plastic worm is a killer there right now :) (extra points to those who know what I'm talking about lol)

Stef: It's Sheppard-Meyers Reservoir, take 94 out of town heading towards MD, @ a mile or so before the state line hang a right on Tollgate Rd (just pass the second nursery on the right), drops ya right at the lake. Codorus is rough to shore fish, altho this time of year and in fall you can get bass off the points or in coves. Not having a boat for Lake Marburg sucks tho :(

Always more folks there fishing for the stocked trout, plus there are plenty of bluegills and an occasional crappie and plenty of shore fishing access. Saw a yellow perch clearing a nest right from shore. It's a real small reservoir

Everyone else: Thank ya, thank ya very much :*)

nice catch! trout season just opened up last weekend up here in MN, i was lucky enough to make it to the stream and caught a few nice ones! nothing beats freshly cought trout! yumm!

I live in southern Wisconsin and we can't even cast for bass until the first Saturday in May. Northern Wisconsin has to wait until mid-June.

I enjoy fishing for bass when the walleyes aren't biting.

I can do one better than know what it is; I have some! I grew up fishing the Texas Lake trails. Lake Fork, Lake Tawakani, Richland Chambers.....
I wish I knew you liked to fish when I was up that way! :shrugs: I have a friend in Philly who is a semi-pro bass fisherman and he knows some great spots!

Dang it Ron! lol (but ya do get them points!). I have a serious fishing jones; my grandparents live on the eastern shore of VA, plus I grew up on the north end of the Chesapeake Bay. Snakes and fishing are my big vices, and there are worse ones to have...

Not having a boat seriously limits how much "good" water you can reach, at least around here. With some of the smaller, shallower reservoirs around you can get a few spots that are fishworthy...

.....Lake Fork, Lake Murval, Martin Creek, Sam Rayburn, Striker, Toledo Bend.....not counting all of the power-plant lakes that you can fish in the middle of December/January and the huge stock ponds back in the woods. Some of the best bucket-mouth fishing around.

How about Texas rigged, 7" Watermelon Red Flake, Motor Oil or Green Pumpkin seed worms? Maybe even a GrandeBass Rattlesnake, Zoom Brush Hog or Senko in the same above colors. Dang I miss fishing.

Great catch Chris......would have been nice to see that 5lb'er as well. The place you showed looks pretty secluded and quiet, a nice combination to have for sure. :D
