Stargate Atlantis - Wee baby turtles

In one ep (The Return Part One) Dr Carson Beckett mentioned he had bought some 'wee baby turtles' and was worried about them. Anyone else here a fan of SGA?

I wonder if they got the idea for Beckett's turtles from another Scotsman and his wee turtles.

Groundskeeper Willie: If I don't save the wee turtles, noboby will! (Disappears into classroom and reappears moments later with baby turtles biting him). Aaaaahhhh! Somebody save me from the wee turtles, they were too quick for me!

LOL! I love Stargate Atlantis. I've only started watching the first season, but I can't get enough. I named the normal I just adopted Teyla after the show :)

A lot of people think that Atlantis is going to be cancelled after the fourth season due to events that occured in the last season three episode to be screened. A few people have (childishly) stated that they won't be watching it anymore, personally I'm going continue to watch the show before I make a judgment on how good the show may or may not be.

Myself, I like the wraith and as long as they continue to be in it I'm happy.

Speaking of the wraith, it was mentioned on concept art of the wraith that the cheek slits aid them in locating prey in the dark, so there's a snakey aspect to them even though they're supposed to be insectoid in nature.

I have followed Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis from the beginning. What bums me out is that this is the last season for SG-1. Although it is rumored that Carter is going to be moving to Atlantis.

It's not a rumour, she IS going to Atlantis, but the problem is that because all the original cast are on much higher salaries than any of the main Atlantis cast they can't afford to have Amanda Tapping on the show and continue to pay all the main Atlantis cast, so one popular character is now gone from the show and another character has been reduced to a recurring role.
Casting two Farscape actors on SG1 (who would still be on Farscape if it wasn't for the thrice-bedamned SciFi Channel) didn't increase the ratings by drawing in Farscape fans so why do TPTB think that casting an SG1 actor in SGA will bring SG1 fans to Atlantis. I don't want Carter to be on the show if its at the expense of SGA characters, I liked the actor who was fired, the actor who's been reduced to recurring is OK but not my favourite.
Atlantis doesn't need another scientist they've already got McKay, the one thing that they don't seem to have is an archeologist, so Jackson would have made a better choice.

Torri Higginson (Weir) has mentioned that more SG1 characters could be guest starring on SGA.

There is no good plot reasoning for Carter to move to Atlantis at all! Now moving Daniel would make complete sense in so many ways. I'm going to keep watching both as long as possible...now if they'd just let Joss Whedon bring back Firefly. SIGH!

Stargate SG-1 although ending on sci-fi after season 10 will not be gone.
2 new films are already being made for direct to DVD.
The first film The Ark Of Truth will conclude the Ori story.
The second Continuum will be a time travel affair where Baal disrupts the timeline so that the gate was never discovered on Earth.
If the sales are good the plan is to create an ongoing DVD series based on SG-1.
There is also rumblings of a feature film which will include Anderson.

I review DVD's for upcomingdiscs.com and have developed some great inside sources for this stuff.

Anyone who has bought snakes from me or looked at our breeders knows I use many sci-fi names for my reptiles. (although people still give me a hard time for naming hundreds of animals). Not to mention any names, Bill :)

Take Care,
Gino

A few of my current reptiles have SciFi names:

Steve the leopard gecko - named after wraith from Stargate Atlantis
Frodo the corn snake - if you don't know where I got this name from where have you been living for the past five years?
Jool the cornsnake - named after Jool from Farscape
Harvey Headbanger the iguana - named after the Scorpius clone in Crichton's head from Farscape, headbanger was added later when he started headbobbing

A lot of people think I named Steve after Steve Irwin, I got her (it looks like a her now, 7 months old at least and no sign of pores) on a Thursday 12 days before he died, the following Thursday I bought a hog island boa and on the Monday Steve died and the following Wednesday I christened the boa Crikey

Well, if it's any consolation Jewel 'Kaylee' Staite is starring in her second role in Atlantis during season four. She'll be in 12 episodes.
She previously played the wraith teenager Ellia in the S2 episode 'Instinct'.
The furore over the main Atlantis cast change erupted b/c Jewel accidently spilled the beans at a convention that she had phoned a certain cast member and told them that she'd enjoy working with them again and the cast member told her that they wouldn't be working with each other on Atlantis again.

All I know is it seems like all the shows I really like end up getting cancelled.
Firefly, Farscape, SG-1 and who knows how long Atlantis will hold on.

I thought about doing this at one point as well but I saw yours and didn't want to copy you!
Joe did name his ghost stripe Chiana after the character on Farscape though!
