sterilite & flexwatt

Okay so I'm a newbie and really confused. So sterilite is just like plastic containers, right? And flexwatt is like a UTH? But wouldn't the flexwatt melt the plastic? And if it wouldn't, would any UTH work with any plastic bin, or would I have to get the brands?

If your UTH is hot enough to melt plastic, it is WAY too hot for your snake. 85*F is not hot enough to melt plastic, and so long as your Flexwatt(or any other UTH) is reliably regulated by a thermostat for your corn, there should be no issue.

I'm pretty sure that even unregulated flexwatt doesn't get hot enough to melt a sterilite bin. Somebody posted the melting points of the various types of plastic, can't recall where...

But of course you do need a rheostat or thermostat to regulate it regardless.

Flexwatt is a heat element most people use to make home made UTHs. See my sig for a rack made with flexwatt and sterolite bins (well, rubbermaid actually).
