Superbowl Pool...

whatisntseen

What's This?
Starting a pool for the superbowl... anyone who wants in just send me a corn of any type and post your predictions...

of course you dont HAVE TO send me the corn... its free, just for kicks..

I predict that halfway through the game tomorrow, the true veterans (let's face it, they DO look like they've been through a "war") of these "media events" that have been going on since the 60s will yet again come through and show us who the real winners are: the consumers of this media hype that passes itself off as "entertainment".

But, enough about The Rolling Stones. :sidestep:

jazz

My son and I call it either the "Stupid Bowl," or the "Super Bore." Either way, the only team that counts is the Titans, and they ain't playing, so I'll be watching the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet.

My wife is a big Pittsburg fan, she's already spent all our money on a host of pools. :shrugs:

personally i'm not too fussed, i would just like to see a decent game. the last few have been pretty close (apart from bucs - raiders game).
just dont want to watch a game thats over in the 1st half.
shame that the season is so short.
the football (soccer) season over here is about 11 months, theres hardly ever a break... its great

Seattle C-Hawks to win by 10 or more points :flames:
My lowly Raiders sucked this year but I never miss the big game, lol another excuse to drink beer and eat food that's bad for you plus The Rolling Stones! That's must-see TV!

In a close game.....

Steelers 24-17

It doesn't really matter to me as long as its a decent game.....

Pittsburgh is closer geographically, so go Steelers! =P

All in all, I don't care about football one iota. I never understood its scoring or why its so popular. Now NHL or PBR, now there's some contact sports. ;)

I'm just watching for the commercials and the half-time show. Although, why'd ABC have to get it, ABC is like my fuzziest antenna station. Bah.

Well ABC won the bid or something, I'm sure they have a a bidding war for the rights to the superbowl every year :shrugs: I'm personally rooting for the steelers..... only because I want to, no real affiliation to either team. I wanted the panthers to win to assure a good close game, but we'll see if that happens..

I usually go for the team that everyone in my house is going against, but this year there are going to be quite a few people at my house and everyone's going for someone different. So, I guess I am out this year. I too, am excited about the commercials, halftime show, the food, and the beer. So bring it on!!

I'm going with the Seahawks. Not gonna even try to guess at a final score, though. I think the Steelers have been WAAAAYYYYY over-hyped the last few weeks. As far as the half-time show, I like the Stones, but I'm really getting sick of seeing them, so will probably see what else is on. Thanks to Janet trying to revive her career, we can forget about ever seeing anyone under 90 doing another Superbowl half-time, or any other major network primetime event. :flames: Ok, done ranting on the paranoid league/network execs, lol.

hmmm...

haven't watched a football game all year...simply asked a buddy the other night who's playing, and I told him it'll be the Steelers. Looks like I'll join him tonight to watch the game. It's probably the only football game I bother watching all year...football's not my thing! But I guess they'll win by four points. Just a guess...

Both teams are doing pretty great this year, so I think it'll be a good game. I'm a bit disappointed that Indianapolis didn't get in it... NOT FAIR!!!

OK, we're closing in on kickoff. As I chose months ago in this thread, my heart is with Holmgren - all due respect to Cowher, but I don't think there's anyone who coaches "big games" better. And while the Steelers have been on a streak as of late, the Hawks (including Hasselbeck, Alexander, and the linebacking corps) have been more consistent throughout the year.

I'll take consistency over streaks. Seahawks by a close one, touchdown or less.

jazz
