Surprise, surprise! GRAVID!

My dr's office takes you once you've shown as pregnant on a stick test because it generally shows as positive once you're close to missing or just missed your period...so, why not get started on prenatal care as soon as possible? Seems logical to me. And, all of the books I've read have stated pretty much the same...

Oh I know, I worked in th OB that I went to. And when you call with a positive test they say congrats your pregnant lets schedule your appointment.
Ours just does it when you're 7-8 weeks though. We thought I was 7-8wk and it turned out I was only 5.5 by the time I got the ultrasound lol my body was an early detection system apparently.

Congrats again!

Thank you, thank you, THANK you, everyone for your kind words & wishes...:) I know that it's still early on, and with trying to be realistic -- I'm aware that the possibility of miscarriage still exists as this is my first pregnancy *ever*, but I'm just super-excited. :) And, per my dr & all the books I've read, the chance of miscarriage decreases significantly once the baby's heartbeat is heard...and we heard it today. :)

And, here are "photos" from Baby's first ultrasound, today:
The little read bean-shaped bitty-bop is my teensy baby! Baby is now .5 cm & 6 wks + 2 days along...

WOW! That's all I have to say!

Congrats on the Bean

Our Grandson who is 2 and a half now still gets called Bean, because of the first scan pics ;)

Best wishes for a happy and smooth pregnancy!

Congrats!

Hope you have a happy experience.

Mine was at the size as in your ultrasound [6 weeks, 3 days] when we found out it was already causing me and itself problems and the doctors suggested removing it to minimalize any damage. Hearing her say it scared me and my family. So mom schedualed a trip to granite city. [yayyy *eye roll*] 2 1/2 hour drive to have an abortion done. =[ Was a very saddening experience... Though it was probably for the better, im only 17 and starting college August 11th.... It was all part of the reason behind mom and dad letting me get my snakes. [along with my brother leaving to iraq for 15 months back in may.]

How did the drs know that it was already causing problems for you & him/herself? What signs did you see during the ultrasound? (Now I'm slowly trying not to spazz out -- because enough is already doing that to me, what will all of the tests for varying birth defects -- but I'm curious all the same...)

Thanks for the congrats, though!

Well, I got very sick and went to the doctor because i started bleeding, which wasnt normal. They said it had a possiblity of being ok, but it was very slim, and i was upset enough i didnt really want to know all the details. I do know, though, that it was just outside my fallopian tubes when it attached, which ment it was higher than normal and they think it started off attached to the entrance of my tube, and tore off, which caused my bleeding. Your baby looks perfectly ok in the ultrasound, and in a normal placement. So i dont think you'll encounter whatever went wrong with me. Im sure you'll be just fine. =]
