Taking Baby to College

Gollum

LPAngel
Hey guys...this is my first thread here so stop me if im going too fast....
Tomorrow im taking my baby corn "Gollum" to college tomorrow for my reptile teacher James to sex and maybe age him/her for me.
Can anyone give me some advice in which to take it in with me....all i have is a plastic tub with holes in and some tissue paper to go inside. Is that adequate enough?

You live in the UK?

If the weathers anything like in Holland right now i'd say no. You need something to keep the snake warm and to protect it from to big a temperature change. Like from car - outside - inside the school ect. Be sure not to cause any more stress then nessasary. It won't be fun for the snake to go from hand to hand between classes. How long ago did you feed your snake? Stress may cause regurg, but you probably already knew that.

Also, are you sure your reptile teacher can sex snakes? It's rather difficult and possible harmfull if done wrong. I don't assume she's also an experienced vet?

Well its already here....i wrapped up the plactic tub in tissue paper to insulate it from the cold.
Its not being handled much because it is in a proper vivarium. My teacher can sex snakes and......its a female :D:D:D
Today in college we have been doing unit duties which basically means cleaning out all the animals. My college as people might have guessed is an animal college and we are all prepared and confident enough to handle snakes and other reptile.
Other reptiles we have here are an Iguana, bearded dragons, blue tongued skink, chameleons, water dragons, a rat snake, 2 other corn snakes (called Tom and Geri) and a horn nosed hog snake (which belonged to a student)
James is not an experienced vet but is an experienced heritologist.

well im stuck here all day until 4.45 and then i dont even get home til 5.30! i might ask my mum if she could take me home cause i dont like the way my bus driver drives his bus!! lol
he goes over bumps too hard and he drives too fast....i dont really like him. so im gonna ask my mum if she could pick me up. She leaves work at 5.30 and she works near me so i can possibly get a lift from her.
But I have Gollum(ina) to keep me company and i have got some assignments to do aswell so i spose i could get on with those lol! :D

heh heh heh, another brit. I know flitwick well. I have a friend who lives on flitwick road, maulden.
give gollumina a little tickle from me.
penny.

Thanks penny...im sure that Gollumina will like that......
Thats cool that you know someone from this area....hardly anyone knows where I live and its not a common place!

I will write in here as soon as she is back in her tank. Im sure that she's fine. She was fed on friday so it must have been digested by now! But im sure that she's fine. She is in good hands with people who know what they are doing! :)

Im sure she had. All my friends says that she's amazing and that she has very bright colours for a baby :D my teacher reckons she's around 3 months old and I did think that she looked around 2/3 months old :D
She's lovely and Im go glad that I have her! :D

Sexing a snake is actually a very simple process, especially with hatchlings, and doesn't require a degree in veterinary medicine. :)

Glad to hear that your snake enjoyed her "holiday". (Isn't that the correct English english?) :D

hehe yeah thats fine. I understand most things what people say. Sometimes I dont even write things properly and Im English! LOL!!!

Hey guys....just thought that I would pop in and say that Smeagol (as she is called now) is fine. I saw her slithering around her tank last night and she seemed happy enough. She has had abit of a shock for the past couple of days so im going to leave her for a few days and see how she is on sunday. Obviously I am going to feed her today so she should be even happier!
Thanks for all the help. You guys are great :D

I Hope we can see some photos when she settles down after her "Holiday" :) BTW Your Schoolbus driver sounds like that guy out of 'The Simpsons' I can't for the life of me remember his name.....

The bus driver from the simpsons is called Otto! hehe
I do have some photo's but they are all on my phone and I dont know how to use infra-red yet. I'll get simon to help me with that one. My coolest pics are of Smeagol eating a pinkie :D
