LOL. Thanks, Brent & Wade!
I'd say that, while in a different fashion, Bush was destroying this country just as effectively. He embroiled us in a stupid, never ending war for no valid reason that made our national debt positively enormous, honestly believed that God talked to him and told him what to do (if anyone used any other name, like Thor, or Zeus, he'd be thought to be nuts. That says something....), and was systematically working to destroy science in this country. Also, despite the supposed thing of taxes not increasing, the taxes taken from my wages increased by half again as much under his reign, and when you have a single part time, not much above minimum wage job, that is incredibly painful. Especially when at one point while in school I was spending about 1/5 my income on *gas*.
Power corrupts. Everyone knows this. Presidents are also just ordinary people who think they might have some decent ideas on how to allow this country to improve. They are *trying*. In some parts some succeed. In some parts they don't. It is NOT the end of the world!
Calling someone the antichrist for that is nothing but fear mongering. The act too is very anti-christ. Christians are supposed to act like Christ aren't they? So where's the love, the tolerance, the hope, the support? Call me the antichrist then. I'm pro-choice, a democrat, pro-environment, pro-equal rights, liberal, agnostic and female. Clearly I'm evil incarnate because I believe something *different* than (generic) you. I'm not a photo-copy, and neither are the people in charge of this country.
If you honestly dislike it, go out and actually do something constructive instead of petty sniping at a human being.
As to one thing better... That health care plan. Works great in Britain. Only reason Stephen Hawkings is alive, and that is what he says too.
. You didn’t comment on the fact that Obama has spent many times more money than both Bushes did and he plans to spend more faster. Just because Bush did it doesn’t make it bad but more importantly, just because Obama did it doesn’t make it right.“made our national debt positively enormous”
but in truth something must have changed in your tax structure, nobody else in America felt that much of an increase. But more important than that, who is going to pay for all this money Obama is giving away? Do you really believe he can spend that much money and not increase your taxes? Really?““Also, despite the supposed thing of taxes not increasing, the taxes taken from my wages increased by half again as much under his reign”
One of the things I am doing is publicly expressing my concern for what Obama is doing. I am honestly scared where we are headed. I know you’re mad and hate the way things are. Be we really seriously need to open our eyes and pay attention.“If you honestly dislike it, go out and actually do something constructive.”
As a matter of fact, I used to get home from work in time to watch Glen Beck (recovering alcoholic, and 'professed' no-party man...I think) on HLN, before he got too conservative for their tastes, and I caught Toby Keith AND Ted Nugent AND other very interesting celebrity-type people who I NEVER would have guessed were so intellectually (and verbally) articulate and astute. I think we all know where...LOL..."the Nuge" stands.9. What if I were to tell you that the Obama Justice Department is doing everything it can to limit your Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms. That the federal government wants to reinstate the so-called assault weapons ban which would prohibit the sale of any type of firearm that requires the shooter to pull the trigger every time a round is fired. That Obama's Attorney General wants to eliminate the sale of virtually all handguns and ammunition, which most citizens choose for self-defense.
Would you say, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!!"
See... that really Ticks me off, (for lack of a better word)
I hate Obama more than you'll know..and I'm not for one side or the other. Bono is no longer the worlds largest piece of crap..Obama is..
I wonder how Uncle Ted..( The Nuge that is)..feels about this.

I do not hate Bush. In fact, I don't hate anyone. It's a pointless emotion that only clouds rational judgement.
Yes I voted for Obama. No, I am NOT pleased with him right now but frankly the idea then of *Palin* being anywhere close to being President was terrifying because of her incredible incompetence. The idea is still scary.
So, I am not pleased with Obama. I was not pleased with Bush. I was trying to show how there isn't *much of a difference* between the two except the ideological belief of the person expressing the opinion and how it relates to which party they're for. Can you honestly say that you'd be as upset if a Republican was spending that much cash on programs you consider important? Frankly, I'm tempted to do a write in next election (only partly in jest) for Shiva. That deity would probably do a better job than any of the recent presidents simply by not being there. Maybe we could replace the top heads of state with a topiary. They'd be more functional.
You can't claim that one person alone is destroying the country without bring up the countless others who have also supposedly been doing the same thing. Yet oddly enough we still hold elections, we still get a say even if we aren't in the majority, and life goes on. Politicians IN GENERAL become corrupted, blinded, waylaid, and lost. It doesn't matter which party they are in. We're hearing lots of "moral pillar" republicans having affairs lately... but I'm under no delusion that democrats are any better because I make a point of remembering that they are *people*, not a label.
THAT is probably one of the wisest and most well-worded post I've seen today.Ricky, this is exactly what I was talking about when I said that people are turning a blind eye to Obama. If Barack likes it I like it. Weather you like Obama or not it would still be wise to pay attention. Don't except it just because he did it.
You are so right Wade, this was the wrong place for me to offend someone. Thanks Buddy!Michael, in the spirit of keeping this a polite discussion, please try to refrain from comments that certain people may find derogatory or offensive. Thanks.
Shiari, you didn’t name the person you directed your post to but since it’s my thread I’d like to respond. What you have said here is one of the main reasons I got so political this morning. You are mad at Bush. You feel like the war is bad and the country is being destroyed. That was a general feel that many Americans had around November of last year. I’m not making as much as I would like, my money doesn’t go far, I hate the way things are and I want something different.
The thing that worries me is that we are all so eager for change that we are not paying attention to what is being changed. We are allowing things to happen that we would have been up in arms about a few years ago.
Example, you are mad because you felt Bush . You didn’t comment on the fact that Obama has spent many times more money than both Bushes did and he plans to spend more faster. Just because Bush did it doesn’t make it bad but more importantly, just because Obama did it doesn’t make it right.
You criticized Bush for his religious beliefs but you have nothing to say about Obama’s beliefs. How does that work?
You felt like your taxes went up under Bush, but in truth something must have changed in your tax structure, nobody else in America felt that much of an increase. But more important than that, who is going to pay for all this money Obama is giving away? Do you really believe he can spend that much money and not increase your taxes? Really?

I am a math major. Mathematics is my thing. You can not spend more than you take in. It does not work. It can not go one unchecked forever. This isn’t some new secret I’m revealing here. You face this question at the end of every month. Take a minute and write Obama a letter and tell him about budgets. Tell him the money is a finite thing that you can run out of. Tell him how you learn to live within your means and maybe he could too.
You are so right Wade, this was the wrong place for me to offend someone. Thanks Buddy!
the stimulus was a HORABLE idea
Well, Nova, I'm glad you've finally seen the light and the crux of the matter and said it.Oh, and I'm nitpicking, but it's "Horrible".
Ricky, this is exactly what I was talking about when I said that people are turning a blind eye to Obama. If Barack likes it I like it. Weather you like Obama or not it would still be wise to pay attention. Don't except it just because he did it.
Very smart post!.
Nova_C, what is your name so I can address you as a person?
