The first one is an Ultramel Lavendar!

This is my very first clutch (only 8 eggs) but it is an Ultramel het Lavander X Opal. The first head is poking through and it is a lavendar with blue eyes and ruby pupils... :crazy02:
I am so excited I'm not sure I'll be able to sleep tonight. I am forcing myself to leave them alone. Hopefully there will be more little noses in the morning.
I just had to share! Thanks!

First Photos

Sorry for the quality of the pics...still figuring out the camera and these guys are squiggly 'lil buggers!
The parents are an Opal x Ultramel het Lavender:
This is my first clutch ever, so am not positive on the ID's yet, but I think I have 2 amels het lav, 1 ultramel het lav, 3 lavender ultramels, and 1 opal (still pipping). Here are some initial pics...they haven't shed yet, so I'll post some updates after they do.

Almost looks like that lavender is a motley...

Congrats! Pretty little things!

Hey, I picked up a couple of the extra males from Jason too. I have been using one on a couple of Amels het Lavender females recently. His clutch of an Opal X Ultra het Caramel Motley was one of the ones on the Ultra Mystery Thread. The clutch was 100% Ultramels het Lav poss het Caramel Motley.

I was thinking that you could produce a Lavender from this clutch, but you can not. You are either going to get Ultramel Lavenders or Opals, no Lavenders, so you are right about this one. Three Ultramel Lavenders in your first clutch ever, man that is going to be hard to duplicate in the future! Will you be able to handle a clutch of just Normals after this clutch?

Male = Ultramel het. Lavender
Female = Opal

Offspring predicted as:

---This is a PHENOTYPE only report-----------------
1/4 Amelanistic
1/4 Ultramel
1/4 Opal
1/4 Ultramel, Lavender

One of them looks lighter than the other 2 and when Jen mentioned it looked like a motley I didn't think about it until I realized my male is a poss het motley. I went and turned it over an it has a snow white belly, the others all have checks...I guess my Opal was het motely too. I had no clue. Now that is really, really cool! :crazy02:

Thanks for making me look Jen!!

Thanks Joe! I'm glad you are familiar with the male's line! They are all out now - (the Opal is tiny!), but I do have 2 more viable eggs from a double clutch. I'll post more pics after they shed and have eaten.

Congrats Deb! Its crazy to think that the first clutch of corns you've ever had hatched a one-of-a-kind animal (Ultramel Lav Motley). That is just mind-boggling! You better play the lotto!

Thanks Jason! I am still in a bit of a state of disbelief.....I'm just not usually that lucky. (North Carolina just started a lottery, but I have a feeling I cashed in all my chips on this clutch!)
Poor snake, he probably wonders what is wrong with this person that keeps turning him upsidedown! :shrugs:

The best news is that he ate last night! :dancer:
