About the force feeding- I've been keeping my Eastern Hoggy alive by assist-feeding her since December. She never ate for me by herself even once. She's gaining weight like crazy and even opens her mouth without me having to pry it open. We're doing three pinks, because they are just easier to get down. She's 40g. I guess I'll try to let her eat on her own again in the spring. She's also not afraid of me and is the gentlest snake ever. It's not the end of the world. I've read several anecdotal accounts of snakes who were assist-fed for several years who suddenly decided to eat on their own.
