The real reason behind the gun grab?

I wonder if that since the "job creation" that has been going on for the past 4 years has not been working, ie. creating more jobs than lost. That causing the people to fear confiscation and banning of various guns was seen as a way to boost the economy, and create jobs?

If it is, then I say kudos for the fear mongers. If it is not the real reason behind the gun grab, then I laugh in their faces for the backfire in their plans...

I have to admit, that it did occur to me to wonder when I was hearing about huge runs on guns and ammo and their soaring prices in various places, if some in the gun industry hadn't been pushing a little bit on the whole gun ban scare, to give the industry a boost. The same thing happened the last time there was such a scare after all. I'd think that would be a very risky move, because various groups and individuals are genuinely for it, I believe, and it's possible that laws would actually get passed but it has definitely helped a lot of people who are selling endangered guns and ammo right now.

Yeah. The gun prices around here are finally starting to fall back to the "pre-scare" prices. I was actually contemplating on getting an AR for myself before they passed any stupid legislation. But the prices were way out of my league. I very much prefer to save up for a rifle that I have wanted for a long time, the Dragunov. It's price has always been pretty expensive, but that is fine with me, because I am saving little by little to get it... LOL

Just walked through the living room and caught a quick blurb (if I heard it correctly) that the most recent report is pushing for the more lengthy background checks.. but that the assault weapon ban did not appear to be something they were still try to push?? If that is accurate, yeah, those AR prices are going to start dropping quickly now.
